NOTE: The national headquarters has at some time distributed Tax Identification Numbers (TIN#) to each Chapter. Perhaps by now you have received a letter from the IRS about the need to file an annual report to preserve your Chapter's federal tax-exempt status. Policies and procedures for these reports will be published by the IRS and you will be expected to file for the first time following the close of your 2008-09 fiscal year. You should keep detailed and accurate records of your Chapter’s income and expenses. The international headquarters can not report for you; we will certainly share information and help in any way we can. A sample Chapter Financial Report, either as an MS Exel spreadsheet with automatically-recalculating totals or a PDF print form for manual data entry, is provided in the resources list above. Headquarters will continue to have the responsibility of reporting active, inactive, reactivated, and closed status of chapters to the IRS. Your Chapter Activity Report is especially helpful in compiling this information. TOP | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
